Specimen Processing
Lab specimens are processed immediately upon arrival at RenaLab the morning following collection in the dialysis center. Samples are pulled from the specially constructed sample boxes and placed on automated specimen sorting instruments, which quickly receive the samples and sort them according to the tests that are to be performed. The racks of presorted samples then move quickly and efficiently to the laboratory analyzers where the testing is performed. If any discrepancy is noted in any of the samples, a note is made in the laboratory’s computer system and a call is placed to the center to let you know and to work with you to resolve any issues.
